Musical Painting

I just had to showcase this art activity and some of our little artists at work. This week we are talking about Emotions. Our art activity of the day was a free painting activity to music. Music can unleash emotions in us all so I was excited to see the outcome of this project. I divided their papers in two sections. I played Mozart while they painted in the first half of their paper and the Wiggles while they painting on the second half.

I was intrigued and excited as I watched the children paint to the music. They took their time painting while listening to the Classical music. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed and they took their time exploring the colours on their paper. When I changed the music to the upbeat Pop the children became more excited. Some of the kids then stood up to paint and even dance and sing while creating their art. I found that they made quicker and shorter strokes with their paint brushes. I could see the difference in their emotions due to the change of music.

I will let you be the judge to see if you can see the difference in the two sides of their art! Happy Wednesday everyone!!!

  1. This is so great Lynsey! I just want to thank you for taking your time to put this together and take the photos and write up, etc. It looks like the kids had a great time and the poster board with the kids' photos doing spaghetti art in the preschool looks awesome too. Thank you for giving us a little glimpse into our child's day at school.
